Richard David Schlink

Richard was born March 18, 1919 in New London. The son of the late Arthur and Alice (Rowe) Schlink. He grew up in Waterford and graduated from Chapman Tech High School.

On January 3, 1942 he married the love of his life Mary Yesionowski. He enlisted in the Navy serving 2 years, 1944 -1946.

Richard retired from CL&P after 34 years. He also worked at Thames Shipyard for 6 years, and served on the Montville School Board from 1955 to 1970 serving as chairman for 4 years

Richard was an avid gardener and shared his harvest with everyone

Richard is survived by 10 children: David (Judy), Kathleen (Richard) Wisneski, Patricia (Richard) Latham, Marie (Carl) Hewitt, Cheryl (Salvatore) Sylvester, Darlene (George) Igartua, Annette (David) LaPietra, Margaret Benanto, Nancy Radgowski- Schlink, Paula (Kenneth) Furber. He also leaves 25 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at St. John’s Church in Uncasville. Calling hours are Tuesday, Feb 10, 2015 at Montville Funeral Home of Church & Allen in Uncasville from 4 to 7.
