Robert Soper

He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Virginia (Williams) Soper of Oakdale; four children, Robert F. Soper and his wife Vanda of Colchester, James W. Soper and his wife Rose of Plainfield, Thomas E. Soper of Uncasville, and Deborah A. Lavoie and husband Charles of Pasadena, CA, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

He was born in Pawtucket, RI on December 11, 1925 to the late Mary Ross and William Krieger. Robert worked for over 45 years in the paper mill industry, retiring from Federal Paper Board in 1988. He enjoyed fishing, boating and hunting. He loved the dog and horse races and going to the casino. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Sept 25th at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Church, 56 W. Town St., Norwich, CT. Burial is private at the convenience of the family. A Memorial Reception will immediately follow the Mass at the Moose Lodge, 115 Fitchville Rd., Bozrah, CT from noon to 3pm. Visitation will be held at Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich that same day from 9am to 10am.
