Norwich-Ruth Ann Rector, age 83, passed away at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich on March 8, 2018. She was born in Humbolt, Kansas on April 1, 1934 to the late John and Josephine (Boblitt) Weide.
Ruth attended St. Theresa College in Kansas City, Kansas. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Norwichtown. Ruth was worked as a switchboard operator for Hacienda Camel in California, a secretary for the state capitol in Olympia, California, a secretary in Tokyo, Japan, a nurse’s aide in Kansas City, Missouri, and at Capehart Corp. in Norwich. Ruth was also a member of the prayer group at Sacred Heart in Norwichtown and Saints Peter and Paul in Norwich.
She is survived by a daughter Shirley Rector and her fiancé Kenny Williams of Scotland, CT, a granddaughter Theresa Mayer and her husband Sean with great grandsons Brett and Logan, grandson Steven Stachelek and his wife Ashly, also sister Ida Mae Hodges of Del Ray, Oklahoma and ex Son in-law Thomas Stachelek and his significant other Kathy Muzyczka. She is predeceased by her ex husband Richard H Rector, a son Richard Rector Jr. of Denmark as well as a brother Herbert Weide, and sisters Josephine Turner, Mary June Morgan and Beverly Jean Corbin.
