Stella (Lazarus) Ross, 81 of Stratford, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2023 at Lord Chamberlain Nursing Home. Born in London, England on August 3, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Barney and Lottie Lazarus.
Stella came over from London to Toronto, Canada when she was 19 years old, where she worked as a paralegal in a law firm. Soon after, Stella met her loving husband, Eddie, who she was married to for 58 wonderful years. Stella was an office administrator for her husband’s business, K & S Agency for over 25 years. Her dedication and knowledge of the business made others question who was the “Real” boss. When she wasn’t working at the office, she was volunteering her time with the elderly, driving them to their appointments or taking them shopping. Stella was also an avid reader who loved solving puzzles. She enjoyed watching game shows, especially Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. The family often wondered why she never tried to get on Wheel of Fortune, because she often solved the puzzles without any letters! Stella loved her BINGO too. The family has very fond memories of going to the high stakes BINGO hall at Foxwoods–she was a pro! Stella also enjoyed cooking. She made a mean lasagna, a scrumptious shepards pie, and a delicious kugel. These “Stella Specialties” were all the rave at our family gatherings.
Stella adored her son, Brett Ross (Jennifer McCaskill) and daughter, Sally Sinisgalli (Kenneth). She was the proud “grammy” to her four beautiful grandchildren Annie, Sam, Sophie, and Charlie, whom she cherished and talked about each and every day. Stella is predeceased by her late husband, Edward Ross and her brother Leslie Lazarus. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family, including her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
The family would like to extend a very sincere and heartfelt thank you to Stella’s nurses, Dee and Darlene, at Lord Chamberlain. These loving individuals took exceptional care of her for two and a half years.
Stella will forever be remembered for her sweet and loving disposition. Her kindness, humor, and smile was contagious by anyone who met her. She was truly full of life and a one of a kind person.
All arrangements are being held privately with the family.
