Thomas enlisted in the United States Army and served in Vietnam before returning to Connecticut where he took up his remarkable skill as a mason/bricklayer which he continued doing until the very end of his life.
Thomas leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Helen (Pinkerton), whom he married Feb. 19, 1971. He is also survived by his daughters, Lorrie Fouse, Sherri Dosithee and Tammi (Raisy Rae) Lopez; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Fouse, Josh Barclay, Crystal Clowes and Diamond Lopez; great-grandchildren Kiona, Kamaya and Kennedy all whom he loved dearly; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Yvonne Pinkerton, Earl Pinkerton, Eva and Bruce Semmelrock; and multiple nieces and nephews from all over. Also left to cherish his memory are Dennis O’Sullivan whom Tom thought of as a son and taught him the skills and watched everything he accomplished; and his nephew David Fouse whom he talked to almost daily.
Besides his parents, Tom was the last living member in his immediate family.
Tom was so friendly to everyone he met and if he wasn’t shooting pool with his good buddies, Butch and Michael Vittone, he was helping anyone who said they needed help. We will miss that great smile and sense of humor that he had.
