William was born September 2, 1969, in Norwich, CT, the son of the late Dennison Lee and Helen Pendleton (Wiemann) Allen.
Will attended Windham Regional Vocational Technical School and was a licensed HVAC Technician. In addition to his role as a Lead Maintenance Technician at the Coast Guard Academy in New London, he also worked evenings and weekends on refrigeration and gas line repairs in restaurant and commercial kitchens throughout New London County.
His skills as an auto-mechanic led to his passion for rebuilding Jeeps, a hobby that brought him immense joy and satisfaction. Will approached each project with the same dedication and precision that characterized his professional work, often spending countless hours perfecting every detail. His love of adventure was evident in his younger years when he spent time off-road racing the Jeeps he had meticulously worked on. Will always had a “new” Jeep he was working on, each one a testament to his skill and passion.
Despite his busy schedule, Will always found time for family and friends. He was kind and generous, often helping with HVAC or car repairs.
William is survived by his sons Trevor “TJ” Allen of Titusville, FL, Adam Allen and Jacob “Jake” Allen of Versailles, sisters Lorey Allen of Woonsocket, RI, Cindy Allen of Uncasville, and Rebekah “Becky” Allen of Versailles. He has numerous nieces and nephews along with great nieces and nephews.
