Dennis Dentist Downey

Dennis was born in Norwich on April 11, 1957 the son of Thomas and Elinor Call Downey. He spent his entire life in Norwich where he attended the local schools. Over the years he had worked for the Norwich Shoe Co., worked as a lineman for the cable company, Angelino Construction and Pro-Tel.

A friendly and good hearted guy, Dentist enjoyed shooting pool, his horseshoes, and a good game of poker.

On Aug. 1, 1992 he married Ann Marie James who survives. Besides his wife Ann of Norwich, Dennis is survived by his children Ryan Downey and Kristy Taylor both of Noriwch, step-children David Hendrickson and wife Kari of Norwich and Bethany Mills of Beaver Meadow, his sister Starr Hunter and husband Timothy of Sherburne and his brothers Patrick and Terry Downey of Norwich, Douglas Downey of So. New Berlin, and Thomas Downey of Oxford. Also surviving are several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and last but not least his dog Ziggy.

Besides his parents Thomas and Elinor, Dennis was predeceased by his brother J.D. Downey.

A celebration of life for Dennis will be held on Friday evening, Dec. 10, at 7:00 pm from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home.
