

She was born January 24, 1943, the daughter of Charles Turner and Henrietta Root. She grew up in the Edmeston/New Berlin area before settling in Smyrna in 1981.
She spent many years as a homemaker and loving mother to her children.
Janie will be remembered for her love of hummingbirds, puzzle books, plastic canvas crafts, and for her famous homemade donuts and chocolate chip sponge cookies.
Janie is survived by her husband of 45 years, Larry Hall of Smyrna; her children: Cindy (Paul) McInturf of Texas, Larry (Pauline) Adsit of Plymouth, Lisa Harrington of Sherburne, Diana (Wayne) Johnson of Sherburne, Melisa (Rusty) Johnson of Smyrna, Stanley Adsit (Bridget Shantal) of North Norwich, Jesse Hall (Sandy Hill) of Smyrna, James Hall of Florida, and Larry Hall Jr. of Sherburne; along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Juanita Lawson of Florida, Alfred Turner (Joyce Ray) of South Edmeston, Gordon (Mary Ann) Turner of Florida, and Ernest Turner of South Edmeston; her brother-in-law: Les (Bonnie) Hall of Burlington Flats; and her sisters-in-law: Lillian Crandall of Florida, and Natetta Thompson of Blossvale; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents: Charles Turner and Henrietta Root; her father- and mother-in-law: James and Ella Hall; and her son-in-law: Richard Harrington.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the North Norwich Cemetery; Pastor Frank Wallis will officiate. A luncheon will follow the service at the Old Mill Christian Life Fellowship Church, 3806 NY-23, South Plymouth, NY.
