

Jacob M. Tompkins, 45, of Bainbridge, passed away on June 5, 2025 at Wilson Hospital. He was born in Norwich to Mark and Pamela (Hartwell) Tompkins. He is also survived by his sister, Jeniffer and Marc Hawkins; his brother, Joshua and Jessica Tompkins, his nieces, Camille and Lucas Beebe, and Olivia Hawkins; his nephews, Nolan Hawkins, and Mason Tompkins; his great-nieces, Annie Beebe, and Loretta Beebe; his great-nephew, Walker Beebe; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Jacob was a graduate of Bainbridge-Guilford School where he excelled at sports, especially football. He furthered his education at Hartwick College and was on the football team as well as becoming a member of Delta Beta Rho Fraternity. He made his living as a football coach at Hartwick College for 21 years and also coached high school football in the Bainbridge-Guilford district. He was a longtime member of the Guilford United Methodist Church and later attended the Bainbridge United Methodist Church. He also volunteered his time with the Bainbridge Lions Club, serving as President.
A celebration of Jacob’s life will take place at General Clinton Park in Bainbridge on July 27th from 1:00-5:00pm
