Joan Lorimer

Joan was born on Sept. 23, 1942, the daughter of J.Henry and Helen Ryan Rydzewski. She grew up in Oxford and graduated from the Oxford Academy & Central School. She was also a graduate of Skidmore College. Following her college education, she moved to Norwich and worked at the Norwich Pharmacal Co. and Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals retiring in January 2002 after 37 years as an Information Scientist.

Joan enjoyed volunteering at the Chenango County Fair, the Northeast Classic Car Museum, the Chenango County Historical Society and Gus Macker Basketball.

Joan was predeceased by her father Hank in 1952 and her mother Helen in 1985. She is survived by her brother James H. Rydzewski and wife Karen of Oxford and his twin sister Judith A. Schoen and husband Stephen of Las Cruces, NM. She is also survived by nieces Renee Knowles, Robbin Merritt and Maureen Reyes and nephews James Rydzewski and Eric Schoen.

Calling hours for Joan will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 5-7 pm at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the Riverview Cemetery of Oxford.
