Julie L Smith

Julie L. Smith, 56, of Norwich, passed away suddenly on April 21, 2025. She was born in Norwich on March 10, 1969, the youngest of eight children, to the late Lorne and Arlene Smith. She was also predeceased by her sister, Susan Bourdeau; and her brothers, Barry Smith and Lorne (Butch) Smith.

Survivors include her sons, Matthew (Jenna) Smith, and Devon Switzer; her daughter, Mikayla Switzer; her grandchildren, Ella Smith, Jayzen Smith, Jayla Smith, Caroline Switzer Knapp, and Asher Miles; her sisters, Jeanette Roberts, and Kathryn Smith; as well as her brothers, Brian Smith, and Kevin Smith.

Julie spent most of her life taking care of others as a Certified Nurse’s Aide and Home Health Aide. Her greatest accomplishment was her children. She was so proud of all of them.

She enjoyed camping, hiking, nature and photography but what she enjoyed most was spending time with her family. She considered her children to be her greatest accomplishment. Her grand babies were cherished more than anything. Julie was so proud of all of them.

Calling hours for Julie will take place at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich on Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 11:00am – 1:00pm. She will be laid to rest with her parents at North Norwich Cemetery.
