

Kay was born on October 20, 1935, in Utica, NY, the daughter of late Earl and Ethel French. She graduated from Concord Massachusetts in 1954 and attended SUNY Morrisville as a Dietician major.
Kay married Clarence “Doug” Mack on October 24, 1959, in Hamilton, NY. They spent 30 years in Greene, NY until moving to Zephyrhills, FL, in 1989. After 35 years in FL they returned to Greene, NY in October 2024, to be near family. Kay and Doug enjoyed fishing and camping on the St. Lawrence River that started an annual family tradition since 1960. They also cherished their annual family beach vacations. Kay was an avid crafter and took pride in caring for her home.
Kay is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Gagnon (James) of Greene, NY and step-daughter, Christy Foster of Bristol, TN; grandchildren, Holly Doroshenko (Michael), Beth Gladwish (Jeffrey), Devin Fernandez, Nora Gagnon, Sean Gagnon (Eleanor), Kim Hopkins, Melissa Perman (Richard), and Sean Coffman; great-grandchildren, Griffin & Cameron Doroshenko, Greyson & Joanna Gladwish, Garrett & Megan Cheney, and Ashley & Buddy Perman.
Kay is preceded in death by her parents, and son, Richard Mack.
A private burial will be held in Columbus, NY, followed by a celebration of life for family and friends at Kay and Doug’s home on August 16, 2025.
