

Larry L. Whaley, 69, of Sherburne passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton.
Larry was born in Norwich on January 9, 1952 the son of Allie and Bernice (Wilkes) Whaley. He attended school in Sherburne and soon thereafter entered the United States Army serving his country in Germany until his honorable discharge. A truck driver all of his life, Larry had driven over the road for many years and had been employed by RB Humphreys in New Hartford. He moved to Daytona Beach, FL in 1985 where he worked as Operations Manager for beach maintenance.
Larry lived the life, enjoyed a good time but was also a private person and as the rest of his family, not afraid to tell you like it was.
Larry is survived by his sons Adam (Sara) Whaley and Brandon (Belinda) Whaley both of Norwich, grandchildren Alexis and Addyson and his best canine friend Lightning. He is also survived by his siblings Donna Livingston of Norwich, Dianna DeLee of Norwich, David (Deb) Whaley of Smyrna, Steven (Lorrie) Whaley of NC, Betsy Barry of Smyrna, Martin (Theresa) Whaley of WA, Lisa (Gus) Willis of KY, Patsy (Kevin) Parson of Sherburne, Jack (Sherry) Whaley of Norwich and Jody (Margo) Whaley of Smyrna. Also surviving is his sister-in-law Ceta Whaley along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Larry was predeceased by his parents Allie and Bernice (Wilkes) Whaley and brothers Rory and Jeffrey Whaley.
A gathering to share and remember Larry’s life will be held on Thursday, October 7, from 5-8 pm at the Sherburne American Legion. Burial will be private in the Willcox Cemetery.
