Leila M Brooks

the late Grant and Grace Whaley. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Lewis A.

Brooks; and her eight brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children, Randy Brooks and Johanna

Olivio, of PA; Ronald and Bonnie Brooks, of Norwich; and Leonard and Joan Brooks, of Norwich; her

grandchildren, Jason Brooks, of PA; Ronald Brooks, Jr., of Norwich; Corey Brooks, of Norwich; Erin

Cosan, of PA; Jennifer Brooks, of Norwich; Kyle Brooks, of Norwich; Ryan Brooks, of Norwich; and

Zachary Brooks, of Norwich; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Leila was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Norwich. She loved knitting dish cloths,

making pancakes for her family members, collecting teddy bears, taking bus tours and mostly being a

very proud grandma. Leila also worked at Norwich Knitting Mills and later at Mt. Upton Market.

A funeral service for Leila will take place at 3:00pm on Monday, February 20, at Calvary Baptist Church,

75 Calvary Dr. Norwich with Pastor Elijah Beltz officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on

Monday from 1:00pm until the time of service. Burial will take place at a later date in Willcox Cemetery.
