Nelson was born on July 7, 1956 in Norwich the son of Warren and Grace (Sawyer) Ray. He grew up in Norwich and was a 1974 graduate of the Norwich High School. He could often be seen walking the City of Norwich streets and was always down for a good conversation with anyone. Nelson always had an opinion on any subject.
Nelson is survived by his brother Scott Ray and his wife Teary of Schenectady, NY, nephews Eric Ray and wife Michelle, Brian Ray and wife Tresa, nieces Krystal and Tia Ray. Also surviving are many of Nelson’s friends in and around the Norwich area.
A service for Nelson will be held on Thursday, August 18, at 2:00 pm from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeremy Stopford will officiate. Burial will be with Nelson’s family in the South Brookfield Memorial Park Cemetery.
