

Nicholas Huzinec born on December 29, 1933 passed away unexpectedly on June 21, 2023, at the age of 89. Nicholas had a very eventful, well traveled life. Right after high school, he proudly served as a Head Cook in the U.S Navy, during the Korean War. Nicholas also continued his passion for cooking and went to night school for cooking after coming home from the war. Nicholas also continued his passion for serving and later on served his community as a life member of Bound Brook New Jersey Hose Co. # 1 Fire Department, as Captain and a life member of the Bound Brook Rescue Squad. He was also a member of the Fifth District, a disaster mobilization organization. While serving his community, he also worked full-time at Ethicon in Bound Brook as a Millwright, retiring after 40 years of service.
Nicholas Huzinec married Rosemarie Walski after serving his country and had two children. Gregory and Melanie Huzinec. Later, he was widowed and later in life remarried Catherine Lawson. Nicholas was born to the late George and Fannie Huzinec of Manville, NJ. He was predeceased by his brother, Bob Huzinec; his daughter, Melanie Huzinec; and his grandson, Jason Huzinec. He is survived by son, Greg (Donna) Huzinec; his grandson, Gregory Huzinec, Jr.; and his granddaughter, Alyssa Huzinec. He also got to become a great-grandparent to Rowan and Adaline Hartwell. His grandchildren meant the world to him, and he attended every special occasion.
Nicholas spent his retirement traveling on cruises with his wife and attending the yearly Navy conference. After the passing of his wife, he moved to Norwich, NY to be closer to his family. Nicholas truly was a family man and loved his family. He will truly be missed by his son and family.
A funeral service with military honors will take place at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 1st, at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00pm until the time of service.He will be laid to rest at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in S. Plainfield, NJ.
