Rita Watts

Rita Morano Watts was born September 28th, 1927, in Hudson Falls NY, to Joseph Morano and Henrietta Teal Morano. She grew up in the Town of Norwich for most of her life. She died January 8th, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil E. Watts; her sister, Sue Morano; and her nephew, Richard Watts. She is survived by her daughters, Lynette Sepello, Suzanne Kraus, and Michelle Watts; her son in law, Doug Kraus; her grandchildren, Carrie Ostrander, Courtney Orvis, Daniel Kraus, and Lauren Kraus; her brother, Ed Morano; her nieces, Rosemary Watts Guenther, and Melissa Berry; her nephew, Scott Morano; along with several great-grandchildren, great-nieces and nephews.

Rita was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Norwich, NY since her salvation at the age of sixteen, serving God in many ways. Rita was also a teacher and touched many lives through the years.

A funeral service will take place at 3:00pm on Sunday, January 14, at Calvary Baptist Church, 75 Calvary Dr. Norwich with Pastor Joel Weck officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 2:00pm until the time of service. Burial will take place in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery.
