
Ronald W. Sampson, 79, of Plymouth, passed away on January 28, 2021. He was born in Boonville, NY to the late Leo and Kathryn Sampson. He was also predeceased by his first wife, Wanda Sampson. Survivors include his second wife, Lettie Nelson-Sampson, of Plymouth; his children, David Sampson, of Ashland, MA, and Deborah Sampson, of Gaithersburg, MD; his step-daughters, Martha and David Young, of Hamilton, and Monica and Wassim Nelson-Mazraany, of Ashland, MA; his grandson, Leo Sampson, of Andover, MA; his sisters, Janice Sampson, of Boonville, and Sandra Sampson, of Camden; his brother, Bruce and Susan Sampson, of Port Leyden; his sister in law, Judith Nelson and Ron Turcotte, of Canterbury, NH; as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Ronald made his living as a manager for many branches of Woolworth Department Store, and was also a driver for Jewel Tea Company and in later years, he was a monogrammer for the A-Z Monogramming Company in Rochester, NY. Ronald loved caring for his flower gardens and his expansive lawn which afforded him many opportunities for bird watching. He also enjoyed camping, NASCAR, and building model trains.
Private graveside services for Ronald will take place in the spring at West Leyden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ronald’s memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Chenango County, 33-39 Court St. Norwich, NY 13815.
