Roy loved his family and friends. He graduated from Norwich High School in 1953. He was a farmer working on a family farm. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Preston fire Dept. and served on the Board of Commissioners of the Fire Dept. After retiring from farming, he was town Supervisor for Preston from 1972-1980, Co-owner of the Halfway House and bartender at Hand’s Inn. He retired from working in maintenance at CWS in 1997. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards and taking your money. When he was not working, he could be found snowmobiling or bowling on the Tuesday night Town & Country bowling league in Norwich.
Above all else his favorite past time was being on a tractor in the woods. ONCE A FARMER ALWAYS A FARMER.
A Memorial service for Roy will be held on Wednesday, August 9, at Noon from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. Interment will be in the J.D. Lewis Cemetery.
