Born June 24, 1922 in Dorchester, she was the daughter of the late Philip A. and Frances P. (MacDermott) Sullivan, and lived in Boston most of her life.
She was married to the late William “Johnny” Gallagher and was the sister of the late James and Philip F. Sullivan. A 1939 graduate of Dorchester High School, Anne, also known as Anna, worked as a bank teller for many years.
Her true passion was music and dancing. She and her husband took part in many ballroom dancing events and competitions. She also taught dance through the Boston Center for Adult Education. During World War II she worked as a U.S.O. hostess in Boston.
She is survived by several sisters-in-law, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 1st at 9:30am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington Street, Norwood. There will be no calling hours. She will be interred with her husband in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
