Barbara A. Smith

SMITH, Barbara A. (Hurley), 79, formerly of Norwood and Franklin passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015. Born in Norwood on Oct. 7, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Helen (Jordan) Hurley. She was the loving mother of Deborah Silve of Norwood, Cheryl and her husband, John Golden of Norton, Philip Smith and his wife, Kathleen, and the late Thomas Smith; the cherished grandmother of Ryan and Julia Silve of Norwood, Danielle, Jennifer, Emily, and Gregory Golden of Norton, and Jarrod, Shannon, Olivia and Jamieson Smith of Canton; and the dear sister of Frances Grimes of California and William Hurley of Virginia. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 13, at 9 a.m. from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St., (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington St., Norwood. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, Feb. 12, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
