Claire Frances (Rogers) Manchester 95, of Westwood passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 9, 2023.
She is survived by her 5 children. Keith (Claire was predeceased by Ellen), Sara (Jim), Joan (George), Paul (Lindsey), and David (Margaret). She is also survived by nieces and nephews including Peter (Jane), Lydia (Jim), Bruce (Susan), and Polly (Larry). Claire has nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren from Boston to New Orleans to London and to Denmark.
Claire taught in the City of Boston for almost 40 years. She had hobbies and interests such as traveling, opera, theater, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a great lover of pets (especially Irish Setters) and was the main caregiver of the myriad family animals including dogs, cats, fish, gerbils, and even an alligator. Claire was a very proud member of the Emmanuel College class of 1949.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD on Tuesday September 19, 2023 from 5-7 PM.
