Kenneth C. Barrows Jr.

Kenneth C. Barrows Jr., age 92, passed away peacefully, with family by his side on Monday, May 25, 2026, in Westwood, MA.

Kenneth was born in Eveleth, Minnesota to parents Kenneth and Hazel (Henley) Barrows where he graduated from high school and junior college. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and was inducted into the technical honorary societies, Tau Beta Pi and Pi Tau Sigma. He and his wife Muriel of 51 years, moved to Syracuse, New York in 1956. He worked at Carrier Corporation in Engineering Management positions and retired from Carrier in 1989. After retirement, he worked as a technical consultant to several manufacturing companies in Central, New York. He was a past member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers and a current member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

His hobbies included woodworking, home projects, camping, canoeing, and travel.

Kenneth was a remarkable husband, father, grandfather, and friend, whose generosity inspired all those around him.

Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Leslie Barrows of Massachusetts, son Kenneth Barrows and spouse Patty Barrows of California, two granddaughters, Samantha Barrows and Andie Barrows, and several nieces and nephews. Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife, Muriel Barrows, sister, Betty LaFrance, and brother, Frank Barrows.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rt. 1A), NORWOOD on Monday, June 8th, from 11AM-1PM, with a Funeral Service in the Funeral Home, beginning at 1 o'clock. At the request of the family, Interment will be held privately.
