Margaret Rose (Dale) Gauthier of Norfolk and formerly of Rockland, passed away on Sunday October 8, 2023, at age 73.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late George Henry Dale and Rose Delina (Lizotte). Margaret attended local schools and later worked for many years in accounting.
She was a strong woman who raised her daughters independently. In her professional life, she was a pioneer in the use of accounting software and computers in the small business setting. She was an avid reader and often spoke about her early days as a patron of the Boston Public Library, spending countless hours reading.
She was committed to maintaining the special bonds she had with her siblings and childhood friends. She was very proud of her two daughters and eight beautiful grandchildren, often bragging about them to others.
She never missed an episode of Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune, and she loved true-crime documentaries. She enjoyed a wide variety of crafts, especially quilting and crocheting. She also enjoyed traveling, visiting Germany, England, and Las Vegas.
Margaret was the devoted mother of Michelle Spengler of Rockland and Brenda and her husband Dennis Dugan of Norfolk. She was the sister of Lawrence Dale of Rochester NH, Edna DiCalogero of Roslindale, and the late David and Robert Dale. Margaret was the proud grandmother of James Reed, Nathaniel, Thomas, and Abigail Spengler, and Breanne, Devyn, Kaylee, and Shayne Dugan. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
