

Mary Jane (McCaffrey) Coleman, 84, of Mansfield, formerly a longtime resident of Norwood, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2014. Born in Dorchester on August 30, 1930, she was the daughter of John P. and Margaret M. (Hickey) McCaffrey. Mary Jane was a secretary with the Boston Municipal Court for over 33 years until her retirement in 1997. Mary Jane was the beloved wife of the late John T. Coleman; the loving mother of Patricia and her husband, Jay Swiatek of Mansfield, Marie and her husband, John Decoste of Holliston, Margaret Coleman of Paris, France, and Kristen and her husband, John O’Brien of Mansfield; the cherished grandmother of Parker and Olivia Decoste, Mollie and Virginia Swiatek and Coleman and Liam O’Brien; the dear sister of the late Peggy McCaffrey, Rev. James McCaffrey, SJ, Alice Dwyer, Claire Brady, John McCaffrey, Frances Mulkern, and Joseph, William and Michael McCaffrey; and the aunt of many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 8, at 9:00 AM from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rte. 1A), Norwood, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington Street, Norwood. Interment will follow the Mass in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Sunday, September 7, from 2:00-6:00 PM at the funeral home.
