Michael J. Farrell

FARRELL, Michael J. of Norwood and Falmouth, died April 30, 2012. He was 81. He was the husband of the late Edith (Carlson) Farrell; loving father of Carolyn Erikson and her husband Kenneth of Amherst, NH, Nancy Dyke and her husband John of Norwood, Linda Stevens of Venice, FL, and the late Michael and Mark Farrell; cherished grandfather of Christopher and his wife Mariah, Cory, Kyle, Kevin, Joseph and Michael; proud great-grandfather of Calvin; brother of Marion Gatterna, Ann Stanley and Kathleen McIntosh. He was also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 4th at 9:00am from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rte 1A), Norwood, and at 10:00am St. Timothy Church, 650 Nichols Street, Norwood. Interment will follow the Mass in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, May 3rd from 4:00 – 8:00pm in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Michael’s late wife Edith Farrell to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472. Late retired autoworker for General Motors, member of UAW Local #422, and a proud member of the U.S. Navy Reserve.
