

Muriel H, (Fitzpatrick) Krant, 91, of Hingham, formerly a 50 year resident of Norwood, Friday, December 19. Born in Boston on May 29, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Helen (Haggerty) Fitzpatrick. She was a member of St. Timothy's Church and Sodality since it opened and a volunteer at Norwood Hospital for decades. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family and to the care of the mentally retarded in Massachusetts, her love of the Red Sox and bridge (and her bridge club), and the best-tasting Irish bread this side of Dublin. Muriel was the beloved wife of the late Richard W. Krant, Sr.; the loving and devoted mother of Richard W. Krant, Jr. and wife Dorothy of Osterville, Bryan E. Krant of Wrentham, Patrice M. Krant and husband Richard Rosenbloom of Homer, Alaska, Susan A. Krant of Scottsdale, Arizona, Janis E. Wade of Hingham and the late Brendan Krant; the cherished and proud grandmother of Kelley F. (Krant) McWilliams of Darien, CT, Richard W. "Trip" Krant III of Boston, Mariel E. Wade of Boston and Meredith A. Wade of Hingham, and the great-grandmother of Tanner and Mackenzie McWilliams of Darien, CT; the dear sister of the late Arnold Fitzpatrick, Geraldine Barnicle and Dorothea Bliss; and the aunt of many loving nieces and nephews and their families. Muriel’s funeral service will be held Saturday, December 27, from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St. (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD, at 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Timothy Church, 650 Nichols St., Norwood. Interment will follow the Mass in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the funeral home, relatives and friends kindly invited.
