

Nancy Marie Donovan of Philadelphia, PA, and formerly of Norwood passed away on Thursday April 16, 2026. She was 78.
She was the daughter of the late Dr. Edward L. Donovan and Margaret L. (Davol) and the devoted sister of Steve and his wife Corinne of Duxbury, Robert of South Hadley, Ellen of Rochester NY, John and his wife Robin of Walpole, Michael of Norwood, Elizabeth of Norwood, and the late Edward L. Donovan Jr., Thomas Donovan, and William Donovan. She was the proud aunt of Lisa, Laura, Amara, Jonathan, and great aunt of Sienna, Luke, Tyler, and Christian.
Nancy had many cousins, relatives, and deep roots in Norwood and New England. She rarely missed holidays, reunions, and gatherings with friends. Her annual two-week stay in Truro expressed her love of the Cape and the ocean.
She graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and the University of Pennsylvania. She attended the University of Montpellier in France.
Her first job brought her to Philadelphia, PA where she lived for 55 years. She had a deep appreciation for the arts and cultural life of the city. She developed many friends over the years through her work in education, architecture, medicine, hospitality, and immigration law.
Nan was artistic and sensitive to beauty and design as many experienced through her thoughtful cards and messages complete with related stickers and stamps. Nan’s independence and feisty humor will always be remembered.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD on Monday April 27, 2026 from 11 AM - 1 PM, with a Funeral Service in the Funeral Home, beginning at 1 o'clock. Interment at Highland Cemetery will be private.
