Thomas J. Kewriga

KEWRIGA, Thomas J., 53, a lifelong resident of Norwood, passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 1, surrounded by his family and friends after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Norwood, on March 29, 1960, the son of Nicholas Kewriga and Mary (Folan), he was the loving father of Kevin M. Kewriga of Norwood, Eric M. Kewriga of Norwood, and United States Sailor, Adam J. Kewriga of Norwood; the devoted brother of Patrick Kewriga and his wife Dianne of Stoughton and Maureen Stott and her husband, David of Walpole; beloved nephew of Alice Higgins of Walpole; Boyfriend of Amy Beaumont of Norwood, and former husband of Beverly (Kline) Haffey of Canton; and cherished uncle of several nieces and nephews. Tom graduated from Norwood High School with the class of 1978 and attended Curry College and Northeastern University. He was a construction inspector with the Massachusetts Highway Department for over 27 years. Tom is well known for his lifelong love and contribution to Norwood Youth Hockey where he served in many roles, including president of the league. Besides hockey, he was an avid golfer and fisherman and remained active fishing until the day before he passed. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 6 at 10:00 AM from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rte. 1A), NORWOOD, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington Street, Norwood. Interment will follow the Mass in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Monday, August 5, from 3:00-8:00 PM.
