Thomas A. Phelan Jr.

Thomas A. Phelan Jr., passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2025. Born in Norwood on February 14, 1933, Tom was the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Pendergast) Phelan. He was a devoted husband, loving father, brother, grandfather of eight, and great-grandfather of four.

Tom was the devoted husband of the late Margaret Ann Phelan. He is survived by his four children, Mike and his wife Linda, Tom and his wife Donna, Tim and his partner Jana, and Mary Ann and her husband Mike, much loved daughter-in-law Trish; and the cherished Grampy to Michael, Lori, Chris, Matthew, Rebecca, Colleen, Stephen, Tommy;and great grandchildren Penelope, Evelyn, Keegan, Carmin.

After high school, Tom joined the Navy and served four years aboard the USS Fessenden as a radar control technician.

Upon discharge he attended Boston College and then on to a 30 year career with the Federal Government General Accounting Office.

In his retirement, Tom and Peggy looked forward to vacations on the Cape and in Aruba and treasured their time spent in Scituate.

A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Timothy's Church, 650 Nichols St., NORWOOD, on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Arrangements are in the care of Gillooly Funeral Home, Norwood.
