Winnie Forde

FORDE, Winnie (Connolly) 89, of Norwood, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2025.

Born on the island of Inishbarra, Lettermore, County Galway, Ireland. She was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Folan) Connolly. She was a long-time member of St. Timothy's Parish in Norwood.

She came to Boston, U.S.A. in 1956. For many years, Winnie worked in home health care for the elderly. She enjoyed taking trips back to the Emerald Isle with her husband and children, visiting family and traveling around the country. Winnie loved to visit Castle Island, taking a walk around the Castle and finishing with an ice cream cone at Sullivan’s.

Winnie was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Forde, and the devoted mother of Ann Marie Forde of North Attleboro, Thomas P. Forde and his wife Allison of Wrentham, and Úna and her husband Gabriel Pantazelos of Abington. She was the sister of the late Thomas, Patrick, Michael, John, Mark, Ann Connolly, and Mary Reaney. Winnie was the proud grandmother of Luke and Jack Forde, and Michaela, Keira, Brendan, and Andrew Pantazelos. She leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews both in Boston and across the Atlantic.

Services from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD on Thursday February 13, 2025 at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Timothy's Church, 650 Nichols Street, Norwood at 10:30. Visiting Hours in the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 3-7 PM. Interment Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
