My Mom was a very unique and loving mother. 
I feel that her, and my Dad prepared me for the world and life. This isn’t very common in today’s world.

My parents were far from perfect, but in this “imperfect” world we grew up not always being told to “do this or do that” but “try to do the right thing, even when no one is looking”.
If society followed those guidelines today, the world’s problems would more easily be overcome.
I know the world today isn’t “Mayberry” anymore, but sometimes think it would be a better place if that were the case.  
Mom laid the groundwork for my life. She taught me independence. She taught me how to cook, a thing I love doing.  I am still creating new recipes to enjoy with my family to this day.  

Mom taught me to be a good but not “perfect” parent.  She maintained I have good work ethic, enjoy life and my family to the fullest. 

Mom taught me to be competitive. She loved playing games, especially cards. Even as a young child she never cut me any slack.  She always wanted to win!!!  I can remember Mom dragging me to Bingo… and to be honest, I haven’t been to a Bingo Hall in 40 years.

Mom gave me and everyone she loved part of herself.
I know I will always carry that gift in my heart.


My grandmother was a very special woman. Growing up (especially during the summertime while I was out of school) I would spend many days with her. She loved her crafts. In fact she had a huge craft room of literally everything you could think of. She taught me so many things: latch hook, cross stitch, beading, etc. At one point she would make these beaded bird cages that were beautiful and that would sparkle and I remember wanting one so bad. Finally, one day when I came over she said, “Alright Brit, let’s make your bird cage.” She got out all of her beads. She had literally every color you could imagine. I picked a purple that matched my room at the time because I knew when it was finished it would look great. We spent a few weeks making this bird cage together and it was beautiful. The number of hours we spent making things together I will always treasure. But, one thing that I loved even more than crafting with her was going to Bingo with her. I used to be so excited when she would invite me to Bingo. I definitely got her competitive genes because I am just as competitive as she was. She was an intense Bingoer. She had her Bingo bag with all her dabbers and good luck charms. When I was young I wanted one of her good luck charms. But, as competitive as she was she got me one of my own good luck charms. I loved playing with her. I even at one point made my own Bingo bag to be just like her to take with me to be just like her. 
She did so much for me and my cousins growing up to have amazing memories. During Easter time we would all dye eggs the Friday before Easter and I remember looking forward to it, especially the special tye dye eggs so would do that were literally so special. We would all do puzzles, and play card games, and dominoes. Just everything that had us having fun, and enjoying our time together. I miss it. I hope that as I continue to grow in my life that I can have as much strength and love for those around me as she did.

George and I are so sorry for your loss of Cass.  Many great times together camping and attending  MD Good Sam Samborees. 

Cass was a very kind and gentle lady. Always a beautiful smile, loved working with her crafts and playing cards.

Remember, Cass is watching over each one of her family members, she is not gone, just away and we all will meet with her again.  You now have your own Guardian Angel watching over you.

May you find peace in knowing she is with her family and friends with her Heavenly Savior.  God Bless each of you.

We knew you were happy for sure!

There was not a card game  
That you didn’t try to play
Or try to teach those who
Who didn’t know their way

You were our shining star
Bright and strong
Our hearts won’t be the same
It just seems so wrong.

So with your angels wings
May you fly high
And keep watch over us
Above from the sky.


Someone very special is going to be missed very much!  She was a strong lady who could stand her ground but had a heart of gold and would do anything for you.  So many good times.  Lots of card playing.  Lots of crab eating.  Made a yummy pineapple upside down cake.  Loved to play Bingo.  Just enjoyed life.
