I first met Tina when she was a very little girl and I became friends with her brother, Tommy. I visited their house often on Timothy Drive in Memphis, TN during the summers and Tina was just the sweetest, most adorable little girl. I know the world lost a great person and my heart goes out to the family.

Mrs. Dushel was the most amazing teacher. She cared about all of us and gave us the knowledge to become better students. We all will miss such an amazing woman who has touched our lives. Love always!

I knew Tina when I was a new mother and a relatively new teacher.  She offered such wisdom to me during that time.  I wanted to emulate her in both areas of my life. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I have never officially met you, but I feel like I know you through Tina's stories. I want you to know what an impact your mother has had on my teaching. I was her first (and I think only?) student teacher, but I learned much more from her than lesson planning and differentiation. She ignited a passion in me that I never knew was there. I will never forget the time I went over to your house for dinner and even though she wasn't teaching at the time, Tina had all of these websites she wanted to share with me. She was telling me how she was going to use them when she got back. Thank you for sharing your mother with me and the Perry Hall community. She was able to inspire so many people in her lifetime, many more than most people who live to be much older.

I joked it was a small world when Tina told me you would be coming to PMHS. Tina spoke so highly of you and was so proud of you, that I could not wait to put a face to the name. When we met, the one thing that I remember thinking was how you both shared an infectious smile and seemed to have inherent optimism when approaching life's obstacles. It's something that I think helps make you a great counselor. You have been extremely strong and optimistic through Tina's disease and already have big plans for honoring her memory.  Looking back at your time at PMHS, I can no longer joke and say that it was a happy coincidence; I think it was somehow meant to be. I really want to thank you for keeping me updated and encouraging me to reach out to Tina. If it were not for you, I don't think I would have had all the memories of her that I cherish today.

My prayers are with your family. I was shocked at the news of her passing. Tina was bright light and will be missed. I attended IND with her and she was a delightful spirit.  I am sure heaven is brighter now; but she will be missed here.

Mrs. Dushel was the most warm-hearted teacher I have ever known. She truly wanted success for her students and showed up in school through the toughest times in her life just to teach. Thank you for loving us Mrs. Dushel, and I'm so sorry to the family for their loss, stay strong.

Tina was one of the most positive, hopeful and faith-filled people I will ever meet.  I will miss seeing her smile and hearing her voice.  Our loss is heaven's gain.  Comforting to know that we will see her again.  I am keeping her family in my prayers.

Ms. Dushel was one of the most passionate, bravest and sympathetic teachers I ever had. She was there for me, my closest friends and members of the community during our academic problems and high school crises. Ms Dushel was one of the kindest and sweetest teacher I have ever had the pleasure to encounter. She cares about us greatly and she has changed my perspective on the important things in life entirely. She had always been there for me when I needed advice the most. I have enjoyed every morning that we spent together. Ms Dushel, thank you for everything you have done for us. You will always have a special place in my heart.

Ms. Dushel is by far the kindest, most understanding, and loving teacher I had the honor of having. She was always there to listen to us complain about school and our so-called life struggles, and kindly gave us advice. I will always remember her humor, kindness, and bright smile that has changed my life for the better. I can truly say her heartwarming personality has influenced my personal  and professional development in ways not many teachers are able to accomplish. Thank you for your dedication to your students, specifically me, and sharing with us your kind heart.

Tina was a warm, kind, wonderful woman whose friendship, and absolute love for her family, dedication to her students, will always be remembered and cherished.

I am heartbroken to say goodbye to my cherished friend Tina. I will forever remember your beautiful face, your amazing spirit, your strength, your courage, and your unparalleled love of your beautiful children and extraordinary husband. I will always be grateful for being part of your journey and getting to know your family. I loved our talks ( even the tough ones), our pasta dinner, playing with Buddy, trips to Starbucks, attending the most amazing wedding ever, and holding your hand not too many days ago.
