On November 26, 2022, Dolores Ann Brittingham (nee Bush), passed away peacefully with the love of her family surrounding her. Dolores was the beloved wife of the late Francis E. Brittingham, Jr.; loving mother of Kathy Garafola, Nan Brittingham, and the late Pamela Brittingham; devoted grandmother of Megan and Kelly Garafola; dear sister of Milton Bush of Kutztown, PA. She will also be missed by several nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Dolores, affectionately called Doey, was born in McConnellstown, PA and was a member of the 1951 graduating class of Huntingdon High School. Many of her dearest lifelong friends were made in Huntingdon. She moved to Baltimore, where she met the love of her life, Frank Brittingham. They would marry in 1955 in Bitburg, Germany.
She was a passionate homemaker who cared deeply for her family and friends. She took immense pride in her home, where she enjoyed decorating, cooking, and cleaning. Dolores loved to laugh and was a friend to everyone she met.
Relatives and friends will gather at Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc., 9705 Belair Rd., Nottingham, MD 21236, on Thursday, 11am-12pm noon, with a funeral service at 12pm noon. Internment at Gardens of Faith Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church, 7001 Harford Rd., Baltimore MD 21234.
