Gerald Jude Stank

On September 24, 2021, Gerald Jude Stank passed away. He was the beloved husband of Linda E. Stank (nee Morrow); devoted father of Robert Stank and his wife Kristen Pettit; dear brother of Kenneth Stank and Gail Amoss; loving grandfather of Morgan Pettit and Stella Pettit.

Gerry was never happier than when he was on the water. Captain since the tender age of 19, Gerry sold his very first boat so that he could buy an engagement ring to marry the love of his life, Linda. He passed his profound appreciation for the Chesapeake on to his son, Robert, through their many hours on the water together, and he was proud when one of sixteen-year-old Robert’s first business endeavors was a successful boat-washing business at Baltimore Yacht Club, of which Gerry was a member since 1984. Gerry held several leadership positions within BYC, including Treasurer for the Yacht Club and the holding corporation. He was a member of the Board of Governors, a founder of the club’s Membership Drive, and served as Honorary Commodore to Commodore Tom Fowble. His family looks forward to passing a love of boating on to his eager granddaughters, Morgan and Stella.

Gerry was a CPA and served as CFO of Fair Lanes, Inc. for over twenty years. His family remains enormously proud of the diligence and effort he put into his family and his work and of the success that he achieved in both arenas. As a leader, and as a father, he set a tremendous example, one that everyone who knew him could only hope to fulfill. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Memorial Mass for both Linda and Gerald Stank will be held at St. John’s the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church (13305 Long Green Pike Hydes, MD 21082) on Sat. January 22, 2022 at 10am. Interment will be private.
