Wow, what a shock! It’s so hard to believe that you are gone. We just spoke a week ago. My name is Kobina  Quainoo and Mr. Howard was my next door neighbor. I saw him having a little difficulty cutting the grass on the side of his house, so I decided to cut it whenever I cut mine. Little did I know he would eventually  buy a sit down mower to cut my grass. Before I would even get home from work, I would get a call from my wife and son and  hear a chorus of “Mr. Howard cut the grass again!” This started our friendship, he taught me how to plug a tire, change my breaks, and fix anytime that went wrong in my house. He had keys to my house and I had keys to his house. He would even call my phone and ask me if I was working  to make sure I made it to work on time! I was grateful for these reminders as I often overslept but thanks to Mr. Howard, I always made it right on time! This is how much he knew my routine.  It was very difficult for my wife to stay in the neighborhood when he bought a new house and had to move out. He said to me don’t worry, I will always come around. And he did. He is not just my neighbor, he is my big brother. It is with a heavy heart that I write these memories. I wish everyone loved people like he did.  You are the neighbor that became family (big brother). God keep you safe my brother until we meet again.

Mr. Howard was more than the best neighbor you could ever ask or pray for, he   was family. He was like a father and best friend to my husband (Kobi) teaching him how to fix a flat, change the oil and brakes on our vehicles and anything else that was broken. A grandfather to our son (Ian) inviting him into his garage and spoiling him with toys and treats. And, a superhero to me because he always saved the day! Like the time Ian locked himself in the bathroom or when the power would go out or the furnace stopped working or when someone hit my car on our street-Mr. Howard was there to save the day!!! There was nothing he couldn’t fix or repair or wouldn’t do to lend a helping hand. He was the first to welcome us to the neighborhood and would still stop by and visit even after he recently moved away. He would stop dishes and fudge by when he made extra. We just spoke a week ago and I could hear the excitement in his voice about his house finally selling. I didn’t know that would be the last time we would speak. We shared our usual laughs and said our see you laters. He had a way of making you feel safe, loved and taken care of. He will be sorely missed. A little piece of my heart is missing. Our family extends our deepest condolences  and sympathy to the Fitch family. Until we meet again Mr. Howard...love you loads.

Mr. Howard was one heck of a man and friend. He helped us out in more ways than you’ll ever know. I am glad to have gotten to know him and will keep him and you in our prayers. We have asked that a candle be lit and a Mass said for him.
