Irene Melick

On January 28, 2011, Irene K. Melick (nee:Kizik), was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, over the years, Irene displayed her tireless devotion to her family as an involved and supportive parent. She was active in both the Gardenville Football and Baseball Leagues and in the PTA's in the various schools that her children attended. After many years of service at Hazelwood Elementary School, Irene retired from Baltimore City Public Schools and Hechts. She is the loving daughter of the late Vera and Julius Kizik, beloved wife of the late Alexander Melick, Sr., cherished sister of the late Luba Tolstuk, Helen Gallagher, Basil and John Kizik. She leaves to cherish her memory her children Janet Melick Weintraub and her husband Larry, Peter Melick and his wife Barbie, Alexander Melick, Jr., Diane Melick and Steven Melick and his wife Wendy, grandmother of Katie Weintraub, Ryan, Kaylen, Steven, Becca, and Abigail Melick. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Miller-Dippel Funeral Home Inc. 6415 Belair Road Baltimore, MD 21206 on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10 am.
