Born on May 3, 1962, son of the late Melvin Huber and Anna Huber (Winkler); Beloved father of Joshua James Huber (Rachel) of Rising Sun, MD and Jacob Paul Huber (Torri) of Joppa, MD. Jim was the beloved “Peepaw” of his granddaughter, Oakley Sue Huber.
He is also survived by his siblings Thomas Huber, Melvin Huber, Karen Johnston and Jane Nickols; as well as many other loved family members including his beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and his late wife Bridget Suzette Huber (Jackson).
Jim spent much of his life on the open road as a dedicated truck driver—a career he took great pride in and genuinely enjoyed. In his younger days, he loved going on hunting trips with his brothers and cousins, creating memories that his family still cherishes today. Even after an illness ended his time behind the wheel, he never lost his hardworking spirit. In recent years, he found great joy in tending to his chickens, cheering on the Baltimore Orioles, and most of all, spending time with his beloved granddaughter who always brought a smile to his face.
Jim was famously stubborn, he had his own quirky habits that never failed to make us crack a smile and laugh, that was part of what made him who he was, and we loved him even more for that.
He will be remembered for his strength, the love he had for his family and the way he cherished the simple things in life.
A receiving of friends for James will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc., 9705 Belair Rd, Nottingham, MD 21236.
