I have many fond memories of Jim and I growing up together and was glad to have visited with him and his loving family before he passed. Rest in peace, Jim

I am beyond blessed to share family ties.  Growing up,  even though there is a little better than a decade between us,  we always knew we had family close by.   There are many family memories from sharing a house at the shore (our parents teaching us all the love of the sea at a young age), backyard crab feasts and bar-b-ques, and as we grew,  weddings and celebrations, new life and great losses. 

Jim and Rosann introduced Fred and I.  Fred met him at Superior Sharpening along with Doug and they became lifelong friends.  Once we got together there were Saturday night chef boyardee pizza,  beer,  and Black Jack 'dates' on a regular basis,  with 2 kids getting in the games,  camping at the inlet,  and ultimately Keith being our ring bearer and Jim a groomsman in our wedding.  Then there were the annual new years day open house celebrations with hung over young folk and unsympathetic parents.  

Our kids remember great times in the backyard pool, and always before going home,  getting a handful of pennies out of Uncle Jim's jar.  

While life happens with raising a family,  we always knew we're there for each other.  When our son, Nick was living in a camper in OC with 3 other guys for a season,  we went down and Fred and Jim went to the camper to fix their refrigeration problems.   That was followed by a fresh fish fry back at the inlet.   

Back when I was working downtown,  the elevator jammed.  It wasn't long after hitting the button when I heard the repairmen telling me they were there, and to hang tight.  Recognizing the voice,  I simply said,  "hey cuz" (Jim's affectionate name for me), the doors opened between floors,  I see his face.

Yep,  seems we always knew we were there for each other.  I'm grateful for our time,  our families,  and always and forever,  to my "cuz".  

I'm going to miss you you but at this writing I'm on the beach having a chat with you.

As I write this it is 1 pm, Feb 8,  I am thinking of my cousin who was  more like a brother to me growing up.  I will never forget all the things we did as kids,  being Jim's best man at their wedding and also the time  Rosann and Jim visited Jeanette and I in Montana.  God certainly blessed Rosann and Jim having two great children and their spouses who are taking care of them.  I am thankful for the week I spent in January visiting with Jim and family.    Rest in peace Jim.

I'm so saddened for the loss of Jim, may he rest in peace and may God comfort and strengthen you and your family doing this time of bereavement. 
I can't help from remembering times when I was his helper on different jobs with Otis Elevator Co. Jim was a great guy  and will truly be missed.

We are missing Jim and sending our loving condolences to Rosann and his whole Wonderful family!  Jim was our friend and a member of our beach family in Delaware….he will be sorely missed!
We have so many great memories and will never forget him!  
He loved Rosann and his family…fishing and camping….helping others…and Boardwalk Fries!  After helping Scott and Nikki with trailer lights we needed to express our appreciation!!!   He loved Boardwalk Fries and we happen to make home made fries at the beach SO Jim was always supplied with them!!!  We made sure!!!
We also had great group dinners where he Rosann and sometimes some of us would go along to bring back a very nice batch of fresh crabs for us all to enjoy!!
He always enjoyed Brian and Lori’s Tri-tip dinners the most!  We had many great times together!!  
We ushered in Sophie Matson with a beach baby shower which Jim throughly enjoyed!
Jim got Sophie her first license plate for her trike!
As his family we are sure your hearts are breaking because ours are!
We know all of you because Jim and Rosann told us many lovely stories of your family over the years

I was fortunate enough to meet my friend Jim when camping at Indian River Inlet in Delaware about 25years ago.  We were having trouble with the lights on our camper.  After watching me struggle, clearly not knowing what I was doing, Jim walked over and offered to help.  In no time at all Jim had the problem fixed.  From that moment on we became good friends.  In the years to come we created many good memories camping together.  Once we got to know Jim and Rosann we would make sure we camped with them at the same time every year.  They quickly became part of our “Beach Family!”  Thru the years our beach family grew, including our daughter Sophie.  Jim was there from the beginning when Nikki was pregnant, he even attended a “Beach Baby Shower” for her. We have a picture of Sophie in Jim’s boat that we will always treasure.
Jim had a big heart and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.  He was always the first to help someone in need and never asked anything in exchange.  I am thankful for the privilege to have shared some time with Jim.  From going fishing for flounder in his boat, catching crabs and having big feasts, to watching football together even though we rooted for different teams…Go Steelers, Jim was always a pleasure to be around.  Who would have thought I could be friends with a Ravens fan!  
As we move forward and continue to visit Indian River we will honor the memories of the time we shared with Jim.  There will not be a trip there that our group doesn’t give a toast to our friend Jim.  I am honored to be able to say that Jim was my Friend!  

Jim was my next door neighbor growing up! He was someone all of the neighborhood boys looked up to as he was always working on something ... expanding/improving/remodeling something at his house or working on that old Ford truck he had. The best part was that whenever we asked, he always let us help him do anything he was doing by himself ... teaching us the skills so that we would be able to do it ourselves when we got older! I still remember asking him about how to lay masonry stone that he was adding to his front porch and although I was very nervous about it, he explained to me how to do it and even allowed me to lay a few of those stones myself! His praise for doing a good job still brings a smile to my face!
RIP, Jim … we will remember you as a man everyone was blessed to have as a neighbor, friend, colleague, and family.
