The world has lost a true gem!  I am brokenhearted.

Dear Shelly, John, Tony and Daniel,
Don and I wish to express our sincerest sympathy to you on the loss of your mother and grandmother. It's a great loss and there's never a good time to experience the loss of a dear one!
From our experience it is good to recall the times spent together and to be grateful for them.

Please accept my deepest condolences.  I had the pleasure of working in a program that at times was at the same location as Joan's.  I was so impressed with her interactions with her patients.  She was both caring and professional, the consumate nurse.  What a wonderful example she was to other nurses.  I will always remember her with great fondness. I met Joan years ago when buying lottery tickets. We were friends since then. Always talking about lottery # and going gambling talking about out hits and miss's.We use to see each other at Holy Spirit Church at Mass and always talked and had a few good laughs. She will be greatly missed,but she is now out of her pain and with the love of her life. Spread your wings Joan and look over your family. Heaven has gained another angel.

I wanted to express my deepest sympathies to the Spampinato Family.  I am so very sorry for your loss.  Joan was a wonderful and caring person and she will surely be missed. God Bless all of you and RIP Joanie.

Joan trained me when I first came to Baltimore County Health Department 19 years ago.  She was a great friend, mentor and colleague.   I learned so much from her.  She always had a smile on her face and was so energetic.   She cared immensely about everyone she worked with from the patients to the staff.  I will never forget her sense of humor and kind, caring ways.   Above all, she loved and adored her family.   I will miss you Joan!  My deepest sympathies to her family at this time.

Grandma Joan was the most kind, loving and caring person. There wasnt a soul she met that didnt love her and she couldnt make smile. Im glad that i got the opportunity to have a such a wonderful person to love and call my grandmother! My thoughts and prayers are with my mom, uncles and the rest of the family!!!

So sorry to hear of Joans' passing. She and I were in Nurses' Training @ Maryland General Hospital at the same time ~ She was always such a friendly and pleasant person and was an excellent Student Nurse. My deepest sympathy to her family, at this difficult time.

Joan was one of  Baltimore Counties BEST nurses plus being blessed with a great sense of humor and she knew her on opinion and was not  too shy  to offer it. Always a pleasure to work with. A strong  advocate for her patients.

Joan,
Thirty-four years ago today you welcomed us as your next door neighbors. We were still newly weds, expecting our first child. Over the course of the years you were my mentor, my mom, my sister and always my loyal friend. You were like a grandmom to my kids. When I told Barry Jr. that you were gone he was sad, saying. "I have never known the world without Miss Joan." You are the reason we never moved and the reason we never had a fence. A physical barrier between us just would never have felt right.
It saddens me to know that I will never hear you say "Hi, hon!" again and it devastates Barry Sr that he will never again find a twelve pack on the front porch!!!(LOL)
You've hit that big jackpot in the sky and heaven must be raining tokens just for you! I love you....

Joan will truly be missed not only by her family but others as well. Joan was a great nurse to her patients, always smiling and joking with them making their visit a pleasant one.  I enjoyed working with Joan and will never forget her smile and laughter.  The last time I saw Joan she told my husband he was dressed like a funeral director and we had a good laugh. To the family may God be with you through this time of sorrow.

What a terrific lady.  Funny, caring, sweet - and always smiling.  What fun hearing the "vroom-vroom" sound in the hallways.  (I always knew it was you!)  Joanie, may you rest in eternal peace and may your loving family find solace in wonderful memories of you.  Karen

So glad she knew she was my "favorite mother-in-law" ever! Always a smile and a warm feeling when thinking of her, and always gratitude for being such a cool grandmother to both my girls. Oh, and that's not thunder you hear - you know there's a party up there now!

  It deeply saddens me to hear of Joan's passing.  She was vibrant and energetic.  From Home Health Visits to Family Planning Clinics Joan kept going nonstop.  She was the President of the Nurses' Union long before I even came to the Health Department.  She would tell me stories of the timeless hours she spent on union business.  She thought of everyone else but herself and saw to it that her patients and her nurses were cared for.  Joan you will be greatly missed.

Joan always had a cheerful greeting, beautiful smile, and twinkle in her eye when I ran into her at the health center -- a special, caring nurse!  Thoughts and prayers go out to her family!

Joan will be so missed, I am so glad to have worked with her, most of all to have known her, she touched my life in the 8 years I shared with her.  She always knew how to bring a smile to my face, on my lowest days, she was always there with a hug & kiss.  Her compassion stretched for miles, I just wish I would have had more time to spend with her.  She is now with our Lord and Savior as well as Tony the love of her life.  Love you Joan

Joanie will be missed greatly.  She was a great woman with lots of energy and her never ending smile.  She trained me when I first came to Baltimore County Department of Health and I learned a lot from her, both professionally and personally.   Please accept my condolences from my family to yours.

GaGa showed me so much love right from the start of being a part of her family. She treated me as one of her own. She taught me so much about being a good person, and strong woman.
