John Charles Staab, age 64, of Bel Air, MD, passed away suddenly on January 11, 2025. He was the beloved significant other of Cindy Riely; devoted father of Glen Michael Staab, Kendall Leigh Staab, Blake Patrick Staab and his significant other Justine Staab, Brent Gerard Staab and his wife Nicole, Shea Elizabeth Staab, and Shannon Noelle (Staab) Stinnett and her husband Thomas, and their mother Ellen Staab; beloved son of the late Henry and Rita Staab; loving brother of Sr. Elyse Staab, Anne McHugh and her husband Thomas, Jr., and Jeanne-Marie Holly and her husband Paul; cherished grandfather of Roxanna, Natalie, Kayleigh, and Brynlee Staab; dear nephew of Carolyn Schmidt; loving uncle of Heather Mathias and her husband Russ, and Brian McHugh and his wife Christina and their families. Also survived by Cindy’ s children, Jessica Hutchison and her husband Eric, and Megan Riely and her son Oliver.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Schimunek Funeral Home, 9705 Belair RD, Nottingham, MD 21236, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 3-5 P.M. and 7-9 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 10 A.M., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 8420 Belair RD, Nottingham, MD 21236. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in John Staab’s name to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research at www.stbaldricks.org
