Gabe, and family, I am so sorry to read of the passing of your wife and mother.   She was such a kind lady.  My favorite memory of her was when you lived with Mrs. Blondina.   One day she wanted to go to the store and one of our cats was having nap time on Ms. Blondina's step.  Ms. Jo did not care for cats.  She called my mom (Rose Pente Lancelotta) to call her cat home.  Funny memory.  She will be missed by a large and loving family.  My deepest sympathy to all the Mingioni family.

Mom loved to sing - especially remember her putting on Linda Rondstant’s “Blue Bayou” and singing along; singing “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer” while leading all the kids in the hand motions at our family Christmas parties; singing “Tiny Bubbles” at the New Year’s Eve party; and singing the song she made up for me and my sisters to sing when we were waiting for dad to get home from work:
“Come on home Dad.
Open the door Dad.
Step right in Dad.
Bubble bubble bubble.”

And she made friendships that last - like her friendship with her very best friend Betty. They met when mom starting working at the bank at 18 and were friends for 70 years - always close and always there for each other. And friends that she met when she married and moved into our childhood home are still close friends today. Mom loved everyone and everyone loved her.

So many beautiful memories and so very blessed to have such an amazing mom. We love you so much Mom and will miss you every day. You are in our hearts forever.

Anyone who knew my mom knew her life centered on her faith, family, and friends. She gave countless hours volunteering at our parish and at our schools, always giving and always happy doing it. She was pretty much involved with everything, whether it was preparing food for parish dinners, or working the bingos or May Festivals, or chaperoning high school dances and proms, or having a summer backyard “fair” as a fundraiser at home where she would be in our kitchen for hours making her delicious fried dough and selling it out the kitchen window.

She was big on traditions with family and with friends. She loved having everyone get together and our home was the center for holiday gatherings and many neighborhood parties. It was never too much work for her. She truly enjoyed cooking and baking for everyone. Every holiday was at our house with mom hosting and making a feast. She would make homemade pasta in addition to lots of other foods and of course a nice variety of delicious homemade desserts too. Every New Year’s Eve, the party was at our house with all our family and friends, and the only time we’d see mom enjoy in a little too much of the bubbly. Neighborhood parties were an all day affair - starting at the Bondura’s for a pancake breakfast and ending at our house with a version of the Gong Show using the trash can lid as the gong where everyone had a chance to get up and show off their talent or perform a skit. For family weddings, mom would bake homemade cookies with our aunts to have at the reception. If you’ve ever been to one of our family parties or events, you know that there is no such thing as too many desserts.

With the passing of my Mother-in-law, my life experiences with her have been streaming through my head at random times. Thinking back to how she let this young man into her daughter’s life with open arms, never judging or saying a negative word. She accepted me into her family and treated me and loved me like her very own son. I will never forget going over to see Barb on week nights and joining her mom in the kitchen while Barb would do her homework at the dining room table. Mom would always have ice tea made for me and always made that square cheesecake with cinnamon on top when she knew I was coming because she knew it was my favorite. Looking back I didn’t realize how much I needed this time with her and the conversations we had together, as I lived on my own at 18, she helped me be a better person, a better son and a better husband to her daughter. She definitely was a role model in my life. Mom will always be a part of me and who I am and I will always have her kind, selfless, loving nature that she instilled in her beautiful daughter, my wife Barbara for over 30 years. I know she is in a better place and will always be watching over me to make sure I am always striving to be a better man, husband and father. I love you mom and you are always in my heart and soul.

My heart is broken with hearing the news of Aunt Josie’s passing!  Although she was my aunt by marriage, she was so very special to me! She touched my heart with her kindness and love. My thoughts , prayers and love are with you all at this difficult time! May God wrap his arms around each one of you and keep you in his loving heart!
