It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lindsey Ronald Lambeth (“Ron”) of Middle River, Maryland announce his passing from this world on April 4, 2024 after a brief illness. A loved and cherished son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, cousin, uncle, and friend, Ron leaves a legacy of love, devotion, faith, and kindness that will echo into the generations to come.
Born in Rockingham County, North Carolina on November 11, 1933 to Lindsay Russell Lambeth and Ellen Barber Lambeth, Ron was the oldest child, with Sandra Lambeth Soul and Russell Wade Lambeth following him. In early 1943, Ron’s family moved to the Middle River area of Baltimore County, where he would remain throughout his life. He graduated from Kenwood High School in 1952. While at Kenwood, he met Arlene A. Snider, who would become his loving wife of 67 years, their marriage lasting until her recent passing on March 9, 2024. Ron served his country dutifully in the United States Army. Upon his return home, Ron resumed employment with Waverly Press, later known as Cadmus. Aside from his period of military service and a brief period working for Port City, Ron worked at Waverly Press for his entire career, and built lifelong relationships with a number of his colleagues.
Ron’s greatest service was to God as a longtime member of Victory Villa Community Church, for whom he served and ministered as an Assistant Pastor for over 40 years. It was in the Church that Ron served the community around him. He was a true scholar of the Word of God, and strived to uplift all he came into contact with, including his family as he raised them in the Church. Ron’s faith and love of God made him an incredibly principled man, and a source of strength for all. He was a devoted and loving family man, and his family and friends were all the better for his love and friendship.
Ron was a voracious reader, and especially loved reading about history. He enjoyed traveling to visit with extended family. He was a lover of sports. Ron was a fan of the Baltimore Colts from their original incarnation until their departure in 1984, and proudly attended the 1959 Championship Game. He later became a fan of the Baltimore Ravens. Ron was a diehard fan of the Baltimore Orioles throughout their entire history, and was extremely excited with their ongoing growth and success. On a sadder note, Ron was at Game Seven of the 1979 World Series, and often commented that the loss still hurt years later. He spent countless hours watching and listening to sports, sometimes multiple games at the same time, and loved attending games and discussing sports with his family.
Surviving family members are Ron’s loving daughter Debra Zuna and husband James Zuna, Sr.; his devoted son Dave Lambeth and wife Tracy; his grandchildren James Zuna, Jr., Christina Miller and Kevin Miller, Tyler Lambeth, Sarah Lambeth, and great-granddaughter Jordan Bishop, all for whom Ron was simply “Pop”; Ron’s sister Sandy and husband David Soul, and his brother Wade Lambeth and wife Sharon, and his brother-in-law Paul Snider and wife Cathy; his nieces and nephew Cortni Legg, Rebecca Lambeth, Sarah Snider, Gregory Snider and their families, and; all the multitude of friends, fellow parishioners, and community members whose lives Ron touched in his service to God and elsewhere.
While the family mourns Ron’s passing, we are comforted in the knowledge that he is now living in the House of the Lord and reunited with his darling Arlene. His memory and legacy will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him. We love you, Pop, and look forward to the day that we will see you again.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Schimunek Funeral Home Inc., 9705 Belair Rd. Nottingham, MD 21236 on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 3-5 and 7-9 PM, where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens.
