

Marguerite was born in Vinton, Va. in 1924 to W. Clayborne Stone and Lucille Adams Stone. She grew up in Westminster, MD with her two brothers, Clay and Allen, now deceased. The family later moved to Baltimore, MD where she met her husband of 67 years, George F. Conway, now deceased. They lived 40 years in Newark, DE while George worked for DuPont, then retired 19 years in Spring Hill, FL before returning to DE in 2005.
Marguerite was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, always putting family first. She was kind and generous to everyone, including her many friends. She also had a tremendous vocal gift and continuously shared that gift as a talented soprano, singing solos and with choirs everywhere she lived, including entertaining the troops during WWII.
Marguerite is survived by her son, George Franklyn Conway, Jr., wife Sue Ellen, plus 3 grand children, William and wife Kristin, David and wife Katie, and Sarah and husband Paul Parsoneault, and seven great grand children, Gavin, Colin, Grant, Pierce, and Hayes Conway and Paul and Julia Parsoneault.
Marguerite was an active member of the Newark United Methodist Church for over 50 years and later the Wesley United Methodist Church in Dover.
A Memorial Service celebrating Marguerite’s life will be held on Saturday, May 20 at noon at Westminster Village, 191 Westminster Drive, Dover, DE 19904. Miller-Dippel Funeral Home, 6415 Belair Rd, Baltimore, MD 21206 will coordinate interment at Parkwood Cemetery in Baltimore. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Westminster Village – Charitable Contributions, 191 Westminster Drive, Dover, DE 19904 or Delaware Hospice at www.delawarehospice.org.
