

Mary Lilley, beloved wife of the late David “Dave” Lehman Lilley III; devoted mother of Andrea Lilley, Danielle Richards, husband Brian and Kristina Hampton, husband Derek; adored grandmother (Nana) of Aidan Marsh, Kyle Richards, Jack Hampton, Liam Marsh, Brendan Richards and Ava Richards; loving daughter of the late Eleanor Maroney and Thomas “Gene” Maroney; dear sister of Elizabeth “Betty” Matthews, and the late Virginia “Ginny” Campbell, and Michael Maroney. She is also survived by her aunt who was more of a sister Doris Preller (nee Lilley), her cats Cupcake, Cookie and dog Buddy as well as many cherished family and friends. Mary passed away peacefully at the age of 78 in her home on June 14, 2024.
Born on Christmas Day, 1945. She graduated from Seton High School in Baltimore in 1963 and met the love of her life at Hollywood Park at the age of 17 and was married four years later. Mary began her career as a teacher at St. Thomas More in Baltimore, took time to raise her children then retired as a hearing and vision tech from Baltimore County Public Schools.
Mary was known for her vibrant spirit and warm personality. A true social butterfly, she effortlessly touched the lives of everyone she met with her smile and genuine kindness. Her home was always open, and her table always ready for lively conversations and heartfelt gatherings.
As a dedicated wife of 57 years, Mary shared a deep and enduring love with her late husband, Dave, who preceded her in death. Together, they created a loving family and built a legacy of love and togetherness that will endure for generations.
To her children Andrea, Danielle and Kristina, Mary was not only a mother but also a constant source of wisdom, guidance, and unwavering support. She took great pride in their accomplishments and found joy in every moment spent with them.
Her circle of friends was endless, a testament to her ability to forge lasting connections and maintain meaningful relationships. Whether through her involvement in her community, Red Hats, or Let’s Dance, Mary brought joy and laughter wherever she went.
Mary’s legacy of love, kindness, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered for her infectious smile, her zest for life, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those around her.
Relatives and Friends are invited to visit at Schimunek Funeral Home Inc., 9705 Belair Rd. Nottingham, MD 21236 on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 2-4 and 5-7 PM. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Mary's life will be held at St. Stephen’s Church (Bradshaw) on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 10:00 AM. If desired, contributions may be made in Mary’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to The Humane Society of Harford County two causes close to Mary’s heart.
