

On Thursday November 24, 2022, Maureen Faythe Colwell died peacefully at Future Care Nursing Facility in Dundalk, Maryland. Maureen was a resident of Future Care after suffering a massive stroke in April 2020 related to COVID 19.
Maureen, 66, was born in Baltimore, Maryland on January 29, 1956.
She grew up in Baltimore on Anthony Avenue living with her mother, Kathleen Colwell, and her aunt and uncle Patricia and William Selway along with her seven cousins Faye Byrd, William Selway, Jerome Selway (deceased), Anne Selway (deceased), Matthew Selway, Elaine Edelstein, and Patricia Wolf.
Maureen attended St. Anthony of Padua School, graduated from Catholic High School of Baltimore, ’75 and attended the Community College of Baltimore County. During her work career Maureen worked tirelessly in retail management for several companies. Her co-workers respected and admired Maureen for her leadership. Maureen volunteered for Junior Chamber of Commerce and enjoyed working along aside other volunteers organizing and serving meals. Maureen was a Girl Scout leader, who enjoyed working and mentoring young people. She frequently helped family, friends, and others in need providing transportation and companionship. She was enthusiastically involved in the daily lives of her niece Elizabeth and nephew Miles Wolf, caring for them, taking them to school and creating lots of fun shared memories.
Maureen loved to have fun and was an avid game player especially Bingo. She took great joy including her nieces and nephews on her Bingo outings, supplying them with treats galore. She also enjoyed cooking specialty dishes for family celebrations.
She is survived by a large loving family throughout the United States, California, Colorado, North Dakota, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Arizona, Alabama, Wisconsin, and Florida.
Maureen will be interred at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Baltimore. Family and friends will be invited to a celebration of Maureen’s life in the spring of 2023. Details will be provided when available. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Above and Beyond English Setter Rescue ESrescue.org. Maureen will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
