Nancy Reid Nibali passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026 at the age of 75. Preceded in passing by her beloved husband Thomas, she is survived by her children, Martin and Matthew, and her grandchildren, Jacob and Patrick. Nancy was a daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Dedicating her professional life to early childhood education, Nancy was able to reach countless others. Whether it was from running a pre-k program through her church, teaching in a classroom, or writing curriculum for future generations of students, Nancy’s legacy of kindness and inclusion will be felt for years to come as it is passed on by those that she touched.
In her private life, Nancy loved riding horses, seeing live music with friends, watching nature, and traveling. She visited Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, and Texas, but it was New Mexico that held a special place in her heart.
Nancy’s selflessness was perhaps her best quality. Donating a kidney to her husband Tom is perhaps the best example of this. In doing so, she knew that many of her favorite activities would have to be put aside permanently, yet she did not hesitate to make the choice.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at Schimunek Funeral Home, 9705 Belair Road, Nottingham on Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Nancy’s memory to Infinite Legacy, 1730 Twin Springs Road,
Suite 200, Halethorpe, Maryland 21227.
She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
