The best little buddy anyone could ask for, Noah Clark Gerard Rector, left this world on Friday, September 15, not quite 7 months after entering it 10 weeks early on February 22, 2023. In his brief little life, he left a lasting impression on all who met him, cared for him, and prayed for him, sharing light and love and a determined spirit with everyone.
Despite never leaving the ICU and PCICU at Johns Hopkins, the confines of the hospital did not stop Noah from exploring the world he found himself in. He was a master of snuggling, he developed an ear for classical piano music, especially responding to Mozart. He loved being read to, holding our fingers, and blowing bubbles and raspberries. Noah was also a notorious flirt with the nurses who provided loving care for him.
While his parents, Austin and Rachel, and Noah’s extended family are devastated, we find peace in knowing that our little warrior, who put up a very good fight, is at peace resting in the loving arms of our Lord.
Noah is survived by devoted parents Austin and Rachel Rector, grandparents John and Joann Stricker and Clark and Sandy Rector, and great grandmothers Helene White and Suzanne Rector. He was surrounded by loving aunts and uncles Katie Gilligan (Sean), Mary Beth Sieck (Dan), Abbey Huettner (Jason), Sarah Utz (Rob), Clare Heaton (Jonathan), Celia Highrider (Justin), and Evan Rector. There are also many cousins who showered Noah with love through visits, Facetime chats, drawings, and prayers.
Viewings will be held Thursday, September 21 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm at Schimunek Funeral Home, 9705 Belair Rd., Nottingham Md 21236. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 10:00am Friday, September 22, 8420 Belair Rd., Nottingham, MD 21236. Interment immediately following the service in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Noah to Conquering CHD (www.conqueringchd.org)
Please hold Noah’s parents, extended family, and all who loved him in prayer during this very difficult time.
