Peter Stack Kromer

Peter Stack Kromer, 73, of Hydes, Maryland passed away peacefully on March 20, 2023. He was born January 11, 1950 in New Haven, Connecticut to Norma and Donald Kromer. Peter, a loving father and husband, is survived by his wife, Jessica; son, Justin (Julie); daughter,Kaitlin (Kenny); granddaughter, Molly; grandson, Chase; brother Martin (Bill); sisters Maggie, Amy, and Beth (John); and dog Gauge.

After graduating from Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey he pursued a degree from the College of Insurance within the financial district of lower Manhattan. He partnered to create an independent insurance agency in Hackettstown, New Jersey and was well loved throughout the community.

He raised his family in the New Jersey Skylands and Pocono Mountains. He was a proud coach of his children's baseball and softball teams. He was a board of education member and always looked to give back to the community. Peter enjoyed playing golf, particularly with his family, loved boating, model trains, and working on his property. After retirement, Peter found happiness working on his 19th century Maryland farmhouse together with his wife, Jessica.

As a man who believed in kindness, Peter always chose to listen before speaking, and he was always interested in what others had to share while genuinely taking them to heart. He cherished small moments. A man with several passions but a great sense of moderation, he focused on providing his children with the best life possible without worrying about himself.

Peter was a truly great man whose impact will be forever felt by his family, who loves him dearly. His passing leaves an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones. His ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will be forever ingrained in all he knew.

A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 26 at Peter and Jessica’s home, 12801 Harford Road, Hydes, Maryland 21082.
