Rudolph Francis Urban Jr.

Rudolph Francis Urban, Jr. (Rudy), age 87 of Dover, Tennessee passed away on Easter Sunday, April 9th, 2023, at Dover Care Center while under hospice care. Rudy was born on July 23rd,1935 in Baltimore, Maryland to his parents, Rudolph Francis Urban and Emma Urban/Zeitschel (nee Windesheim). He was pre-deceased by his wife Marcella Fay Urban (nee Gray) and is survived by four children: Michael Urban and his wife Denise (nee Zubalik); Mark Urban and Terri Beil; Rudolph Urban III; and Brandy Page and her husband Aaron. Rudy is also survived by his siblings Charles Urban, Sylvester Urban, Jesse Urban, and Melva Sunday (nee Zeitschel). He is pre-deceased by his brother George Dahle Urban and survived by his grandchildren Erik Urban, Adam Urban, Amanda Sieler (nee Urban), Emma Warfield, and Anna Page as well as eight great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Rudy attended Baltimore City College High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force as an Air Policemen during the Korean War while stationed at Thule Air Base, Greenland. He was a long-time parishioner, baseball coach, and baseball commissioner at the Shrine of the Little Flower Parish in Northeast Baltimore.

Relatives and friends will gather at Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc., 9705 Belair Rd, Nottingham, Maryland 21236, on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, 10:00 am at St Stephen Bradshaw Roman Catholic Church, 8030 Bradshaw Rd., Kingsville, Maryland 21087. A private interment for family will follow at Parkwood Cemetery in Parkville, Maryland.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that a contribution be made to Tunnel To Towers Foundation (www.t2t.org), an organization that provides mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children. They also build specially adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders.
